We are a one stream Kinder to Year 6 coeducational school located in central western NSW. The school is part of the Diocese of Bathurst Education System and was founded by the Sisters of St Joseph in 1909.
St Joseph’s aims to give each and every child the opportunity to reach their full potential in all facets of school life. Students are encouraged to live the school vision – ‘For The Glory Of God We Give Of Our Best’. We strive to educate the whole child in an atmosphere of love and acceptance that values excellence in all areas of endeavour.
Our school offers a caring and loving environment in which Christ is the centre of all we do. We at St Joey’s believe a united partnership between home and school is essential if we are to provide the very best for our children. We are most fortunate to have an extremely supportive Parents & Friends Association which raises money and makes recommendations to support and assist the school.
We are very proud of our history and traditions that have been evident for all to witness for over 100 years. A strong link with our parish, priests and sisters continues and we appreciate all they have done in the past and continue to do today. The students participate in beautiful liturgies and receive the Sacraments during the year.
Initiatives such as Junior Joey’s and the Kinder/Year 6 buddy system help to instil in the children a sense of family and the importance of looking after one another.
While the focus on numeracy and literacy is very strong, the school offers a comprehensive K-6 academic program in all key learning areas. Joey’s is also renowned for the students’ wonderful performances at eisteddfods, amazing concerts, excellence on the sporting fields and sensational school spirit.
